Nikon D5000 Releasing soon ?

It looks like Nikon D5000 will be hitting the shore soon at least in Japan first. The Nikon D5000 is spotted in a Japan website. The entry-level D5000 DSLR comes with a 2.7-inch LCD and suggests a major upgrade over the D60 as a whole, including a movie mode, 11-point autofocus (up from just 3) and light sensitivity up to at least ISO 3,200.

Nikon Adding Entry-Level D5000 DSLR?

Nikon seems to be readying with a new entry-level digital SLR that either complements or replaces its D60. A source that was originally investigating Olympus information now claims that a camera known as the D5000 may be unveiled at the PMA photography Expo next month, and that its imaging performance will roughly be on par with the considerably higher-end D90. Among the improvements would be a long-requested increase on the number of autofocusing points from just three on the D40 and D60.

The camera would continue to trim costs by requiring that the lenses have their own auto-focus motors instead of building it into the camera body, as is the case with the D90 and up.
No information on when the camera is available and technical details were mentioned. Nikon has recently entered a pattern of releasing an entry-level DSLR every 1 to 1.5 years, however, and hasn’t addressed the category since unveiling the D60 in January of last year. A D5000 name would also avoid a potential naming conflict with the older D70.
